Retirees are mailed a statement every December and any time the gross or net amount of their monthly pension payment changes. Retirees should receive their 1099-R tax document by mid-February. These documents are available in electronic form through MemberDirect portal on the VSTRS website.

MemberDirect Portal at the VSTRS Website
Please sign up for MemberDirect portal to access your VSTRS retirement account and to receive important updates.
You can sign up for MemberDirect by visiting https://retire.vermont.gov/Login.aspx?ReturnUrl=%2f
Through MemberDirect, retirees can make changes to their state (VT only) and federal withholding tax amounts and update personal information including mailing address and direct deposit information.
The portal provides access to annual reports, 1099R tax documents (available for retirees by mid-February of each year), and more.

Vermont Pension Investment Commission (VPIC)
The Vermont Pension Investment Commission is charged with overseeing the investments of the VT State Employees’ Retirement System, the VT State Teachers’ Retirement System, and the VT State Municipal Employees’ Retirement Systems.
